Looking Forward to a New Year

It's that time of year when we reminisce on last year's successes and set goals for the next stage of our business.

To help you make the best decisions for your online strategy, the crew at Esultants put our heads together to fill you in on the trends of 2018 and how you can stay ahead of the curve.

Website Design

Rob, Project Coordinator

Website design in 2018 will adapt to new devices and new ways in which users interact with websites on those devices. As mobile devices, tablets, laptops, and desktops meld into hybrid devices, websites that are responsive to touch and have flexible design options have become paramount. Building layouts that are flexible and can re-size based on the user’s display remains a key to website design in 2018.

Stylistically, 2018 is the year of bright colors, minimalism, and large engaging photography. Using bold simple fonts and patterns to enhance design aspects is also a big part of the 2018 design trends. Expect to see sites that feature more image-based content and use interactive media to engage visitors. At Esultants, we are excited to use these new ideas and look forward to seeing what 2018 will bring.

Content & Search Engine Optimization

Caitlin, Content & SEO Consultant

In 2018 and into the foreseeable future, search engines will still be prioritizing quality content that matches users' search intent and their devices. Black-hat tactics to boost SEO like creating doorway pages and duplicate content may have worked five years ago, but not anymore. The space-race-esque competition for search engines and social media algorithms (like Google, Amazon/Alexa, Facebook) to be the best at delivering what users will find useful means that high-quality, purposeful content is the way to boost your statistics.

Forget what you first heard about SEO: it's way more than data-analysis and writing keywords and descriptions. Now SEO has to consider every aspect of user experience, which is why in 2017 we started blending design updates, copywriting, and social media management even further—with impressive results, especially for our blogging clients.

In 2018, to serve you even better, we have completely reworked our maintenance programs to be fully customizable to your needs and budget. We've also included a la carte pricing for one-time needs. Contact your sales representative or email me for more information.

We've also got more goodies and resources for our social media followers and newsletter subscribers in 2018. It's going to be a great year. Don't miss out on our free worksheets, eBooks, and videossubscribe and follow!

Social Media & Blogging

Megan, Content & Social Media Specialist

Organic reach is going to decrease in 2018, but this doesn't mean your time and energy is wasted on social media. Algorithms are changing to favor accounts who post useful content their audience engages with, which is good news if you are focused on your customer!

The key to social media success is strategy. Your first step should be deciding on a goal for your online presence. Then you can test different topics, types of posts, and calls to action to find out what your fans want to see.

This is exactly what we did at Esultants in 2017. After 6 months of carefully writing, designing, and curating posts, we increased our Facebook engagements by 400% and received 17x more Twitter impressions. In 2018, we want to share what we've learned to help you meet your own social media goals.

Here's to you!

I would like to take a moment to thank YOU, our valued client, for a great 2017!  You have made a difference in our lives, and we appreciate our partnership.

Regards,

Jeffery Schissler
